    Cool Adjectives For Gamertags

  • 1 decade ago

There are a few mistakes to avoid when selecting a gamertag:

    1. It is a name. Not a description. If you don't know what I'm talking about, think of what you want your gamertag to be, read it, and figure out if it's a noun or an adjective. Noun good. Adjective bad. (PS. Verb also very bad... should go without saying)

    2. DO NOT pick a name from flavor of the month pop culture (which includes your favorite game). I can't even tell you how many Master Chiefs, Sam Fishers, Spartans, etc I've run into on live. It just makes you look stupid.

    3. DO NOT try to go around word filters. They will only make you change it.

    4. TRY TO MAKE IT EASY TO SAY. People are going to be trying to get your attention quickly. If you're gamertag is Ex4p3l2473D then people are going to be trying to say something to you and sound like, "HEY, E... EEE.... EX.... DAH! SNIPER!" and you will die. PS. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE SHORT, BUT PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO SHORTEN IT. Ex. "Smash The Destroyer" could be shortened to "smash."

    5. Try and pick something easy to pronounce. I play as BYOB Kenobi... and get called BEE YOHB just about daily. It gets old.

    6. Avoid the word "Sniper." First of all, you won't be sniping all the time... probably a very small ammount of the time. In fact, you probably won't be playing FPSs all the time. Sniper screams "brain damaged child."

    7. Avoid any "funny" numbers aka 420, 69, 666, etc

    8. Avoid drug references. If you love getting high... more power to you. I could care less... but you will look like a jack *** if you have a name like Pot420.

    9. DO NOT SUBSTITUTE NUMBERS FOR LETTERS. I know that's "cool" sometimes, but if you try to avoid it all together you'll be in better shape. If there is a name you truely want that is taken, try adding a number combination to the end (but don't forget rule #7)

FINALLY: Remember this will be YOUR NAME on line for the forseable future. If you don't want to be called "Fluffy Bunny" for the next year... better not choose it now. This is how people will recognize you and how they will speak to you. A bad gamertag normally means a bad person. Try to be unique, but remember that nothing is funny very long. Sure, it's funny today, but when every 9 year old with a mic tells the same joke back to you round in and round out... you'll wish your name wasn't so "funny."

Most people make their gamertag their favorite sports team, tv show, movie, etc. Personally, I think that's a little un-creative. What I did was I made up some word that doesnt mean anything. Muzzi. or you can go to a website with a list of exotic names from around the world. Also try to get a gamertag without any numbers after it.
