    Nope, they will happily coexist.

You can install Firefox 3 without uninstalling Internet Explorer 8. You can choose which one you want to run at any time.

No, not at all. In fact, you can use Internet Explorer to actually download Firefox. You can even add other browsers by using Internet Explorer, such as Safari, Flock, Acoo and the new must-have browser, Google Chrome.

No. Just google for firefox then follow the link and download. You'll get a Firefox icon your desktop which can choose to open as an alternative to IE8.

You can go to your ISP home page and it'll work fine but it may look a bit different from Explorer.

You can have as many different browsers as you like. They're just icons until you click on them.

Try also Opera and Safari (the Mac one, Windows version), the Google Browser and compare them.

No you don't have to. In fact you shouldn't.

The windows update feature will only work with internet explorer. I use Firefox for all my internet surfing. But once or twice per month, I open Internet Explorer and go to the windows update page to check for critical updates. The main reason I keep IE is because Microsoft, in their never ending quest for a monopoly in the computer world, designed their update system to work only with Internet Explorer.

There is no need to uninstall IE to have Firefox. The two programs should run smoothly together. What it will do is ask you do you want it to be your default browser. This lets you pick the one you'll use most.

No I have IE8 running alongside Firefox and Flock, there seem to be no worries about having them all.
