Do you think anime movie's would be watched if they were put into theaters?

By anime i mean a real anime....not something like pokemon or whatever.

I ask this because i have asked myself this and would personally love to see a animated movie( that doesn't have to be based off anything necessarily like a manga or whatever) but just a anime movie in general.

Do you think people would watch if this was tried out or is our society just not "in to" this kind of thing to become popular in that kind of mainstream?

If by "anime" you mean any of the made-for-Japanese-television series which are imported into the United States and dubbed for broadcasting on one cartoon "network" or another, I can't see any of the current crop attracting a large enough audience to make back the cost of acquiring an existing feature length movie, dubbing it, and distributing it. There simply are not enough anime fans in the U.S.A. to support such movies. Animated films like "Howl's Movable Castle" and "Princess Mononoke" are viable for American distribution, but such high quality anime are few and far between. Any anime that would carry themselves with a mainstream audience will have to be far more accessible to mainstream audiences than those television series so beloved by the Anime Army. Personally, I would like to see more original anime movies that are self contained, have no supernatural element, no corny ninjas, and are not based on any manga series, but I do not expect many such films to be imported, and I doubt many good non-series feature length anime have been produced in Japan, so I doubt I'll have a chance to see many superior anime movies.

Honestly? I don't think people would pay $5+ to watch anime movies in the theaters, and if they do, I don't feel as though there'd be enough of a base that would watch them.

while i became into 17, some buddies and that i snuck 2 six packs of malt duck interior the theater. We finished all of it and had sat the bottles on the floor of the theater. while the action picture became into over, we went to upward thrust up and knocked the bottles over. It made this clinking noise that became into fairly loud. We laughed our arses off each and every of ways out of the theater.

It would depend on the plot.

Where does the movie take place? What is the problem?

Maybe plenty of people would watch, there are bunches of anime fans around everywhere (right here! XD).

But again, it would mostly depend on the movie itself.

You would have to overcome a lot of prejudice

Now, it has worked with Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke), but something else requires a lot of promotional work

I suppose its were you play them, I think Id watch Naruto or Bleach if they were to be in the cinema, but like I say it all depends on what the films are :)
