What happens if the Jets and Giants both get home field advantage in the playoffs? Where do they play?!?

It most likely wouldn't happen this year...or next....or the one after. But what if it happened? They share a stadium, so where would both teams play? Would the NFL do that stupid - you get a home game away from home thing?

What do you think?

This situation already occurred in 1985 in Giants Stadium. Both the Jets and Giants were to host a wildcard game, and both were scheduled on a Sunday, the NFL moved the Jets wildcard (AFC) to Saturday afternoon at 4PM. After the game, they took the "JETS" lettering out of the end zone and replaced it with "GIANTS" and the Giants kicked off at 12:35PM on Sunday. If both were to host a conference championship game in the same season, that would be a good thing for this area, and I would assume they would move one of the 2 games to Saturday afternoon or evening and play the other on Sunday, just as they did in 1985.That's the only way to get it done the right way. It should not be a problem.

They would play on different days. For example, the Jets would host on Saturday, and the Giants on Sunday. It would become an issue for the championship games as they are normally played on the same day. The NFL would have to change it to a Saturday game.

The NFL playoffs are always on Saturday and Sunday. So One team would play on Saturday and one would play on Sunday.

  • The league would make arrangements to have non-conflicting dates. Somehow they would make this work. Probably have one team with the early Saturday game, and the other team with the late Sunday game.

The Jets? Playoffs? Home field advantage?

Let's cross this imaginary bridge when we come to it.

  • They would play on separate days. One on saturday and one on sunday
