URGENT -- problem with car?
my sister's car engine light went on, the speed dial does not register anything when she tries to drive, and when she does try to drive she has to push gas pedal all the way to the floor. Any ideas? she took it to the shop but would like to know at least a little about what might cause problem so the dealer doesn't rip her off and tries to sell something she doesn't really need.
she usually keeps car in very good condition, did full service oil change a week ago, all fluids are there.

sounds like a belt or could be transmission. Does she have fluids in all the correct spots, does she have oil, Trans fluid, water in the radiator. Don't drive the car. Call around to a couple places and see what they say.
