If Oregon St. was in the SEC how many games would they lose?

This question is related to a question I asked a couple of days ago. This is for all of you USC fans who thought their team was the best thing going since sliced bread!

Update:

I'm not an SEC fan. I'm a fan of the only Div 1 college football team to win 5 national titles in the last 20+ years of college football. GO CANES!!! They are on the way back to national prominence.

I would say that they would probably win about half of them. They could probably hand most of the lower teams. Their problem would be that they would not have the same success running the ball. Most SEC defenses are geared for stopping the run. I am not saying that they could not win more, I am just pointing out where their problems would be. The upper-class SEC teams also have very balanced, lethal offenses. I would give them some success, but I just could not see them winning the conference. After they have played an entire season, then they have to go a conference championship game, before they can ever play for a championship. There are several conferences like this that have a playoff sort of system. Basically, you have to play the top teams all season, and then play them again before you can advance on.

For USC fans that call the SEC haters, most of the SEC fans I know wanted to play USC for the championship. We can rewind all the way to when Saban told Pete Carroll that he was willing to play an Extra game, after LSU had already won, to determine the true champion. Carroll declined the offer. I say this and I am not even a LSU fan.

Beaver fan here, what gives? Why the smack talk on the beavers, are they in the hunt for the national title? God NO! They are a team that allways loses in the begininng of the season. They usually are a team to be reckoned with at the end of the season. They are pretty tough at home, and can beat any team in the nation there, as evidenced by last night. SEC is a very good conference, the beavers would struggle with LSU, Florida, and Georgia. They are on par with the other teams. My guess is that this year they would have the 4th or 5th best record in the SEC. Every year the SEC beats itself up and so does the PAC-10.

OH here we go again... now its what about Oregon State being in the SEC and not USC....

Very FEW teams in the country could handle an SEC schedule...

    Here is my idea...

Put them in the SEC West in place of Mississippi State...

    It would look like this:

    wk1- La Tech

    wk2- FIU

    wk3- Troy

    wk4- Ole Miss

    wk5- @LSU

    wk6- Bye

    wk7- @ Tennessee

    wk8- @Bama

    wk9-Arkansas

    wk10- @FLA

    wk11- Georgia

    wk12- BYE

    wk13- MTSU

    wk14- Auburn

What teams in the nation could handle that type of schedule? The SEC plays schedules like this EVERY YEAR!!!

so let me get this straight...

this question is for USC fans (w/ bruised egos) to try to objectively guess at how many games OSU would lose in the SEC ... a conference that obviously many USC fans don't understand.

guess i can't give a qualified answer. good luck w/ the results.

(not a USC fan either. it's just humorous to see some of you SEC fans fall into the trap, and not take the high ground. you almost confirm that you're scared of USC. if you actually didn't think much of them, their loss last night wouldn't be a big deal. and neither would their annoying fans who talk trash on here.)

i'm a fan of Michigan, and i admit that they suck. i further admit that the Big 10 is weak. so is the PAC 10. and the big 12 is strong, but not as much as the SEC. but i'm secure in that. some of you SEC fans just seem insecure. you don't need to be. you have the best conference.

    have fun

Oregon State was really fired up and on their game last night but just like USC they would get thumped on a regular basis in the SEC. Best conference in college football by far.

    4 or 5 losses

I loved the beating they put on USC though..........Uhrah Beavs!

The would be 3-8, no better than that.

They would lose most of the game. SEC football is rough, tough and fast!

Most likely, all of them, but they could win over SC, and Ole Miss or Miss State. Vandy is almost a gimme in any other year, but this time around they're a tough sell as well.

OSU is not in the SEC so it's a mute point.
