Is racial prejudice a big part of this election?
Some the Republicans I talked to talk about doom and gloom about Obama and have far fetched ideas that he will bring the country into chaos. I've even seen members of KKK go out support McCain saying inaccurate and really far fetched statements regarding Obama like he'll side with the Muslims or that he'll be the next Hitler.
Will we ever get over this racial prejudice?

It saddens my heart to say, but I don't think this country will never get over it's racial prejudice. Some of us will never be able to get past the color of skin. We will never know true peace until we do.

The US doesn't have any more racial prejudice than other countries.
I've lived abroad and traveled extensively on other continents and it exists everywhere. It's even more overt in many places. In some countries, it's even part of the laws.
The media has made American THINK that we have some sort of special problem.
If anything, we have LESS prejudice in the US.
The KKK is so small that it has no impact and they're under constant surveillance by authorities anyway. They can't move without the cops knowing.
Statements by haters on both sides are just that - statements. Protected by free speech, however disgusting they are.
Race has become a larger problem since the Obama campaign and the media MADE it one.
The constant emphasis on "the first black president" has been overdone.
The media made this about race.
Obama surrogates threw the race card early and often.
They used it as a weapon and a threat. Constantly.
The McCain campagin NEVER used it.
Some looneys out there might have said it but they were both Democrats and Republicans.
No, there will ALWAYS be some prejudice.
It's part of human nature.
The best you can hope for is to make people not act on those prejudices.
Civil society makes that unacceptable.
Just like smoking in restaurants, cursing in public, knocking old ladies out of the way, picking your nose, and normal good manners.

This is the biggest crock I've heard in a long time. I'm sure there are some ignorant white people out there that won't vote for Obama simply because he is black. But that number is certainly made up for by the number of black people that will vote for Obama simply because he is black.

To be fair, Obama has brought a lot of this on himself with his obvious racial prejudice. To answer your question, yes, but it not one sided.

Why is the race card always played with Obama? I guess the only way to contend with the race card is to play the fact card.
The problem I have with Obama is the fact he is an academic Marxian. Marxian idealogies have failed numerous times and are contrary to the very principles upon which our nation was founded.

Racism is the basis of this country, discrimination and the like. Of course it plays a role for both. Gender is also fused into this web of trivial measures.

I highly doubt it, but at least there's bigotry from both sides to even things out.

1/3 of white DEMOCRAT voters will not vote for Obama because of his skin color

I don't feel like it is. Obama is really looking good and the republicans usually vote pub no matter how unqualified that person is, hence the condition of wall street.
