Why does my female puppy hump my leg after she has been fixed?

My puppy is 6 months old and ever since I got her fixed about 1 month ago she has very strange behavior. She is so much more hyper, never wants to go to the bathroom outside, and has been dry humping my leg every chance she gets. What is going on?? She is female!!!! Do you know why she would do this? Has your dog showed you strange behavior after she has been spayed?? Thanks.

I very much doubt it has anything to do with her being spayed. At six months she is entering her adolescent stage. This is the stage where she will become very challenging and try to assert herself as the leader in your family pack. The humping is one manifestation of her wanting to be the boss. This is the period where you will need to put in most effort with the dog. If she believes she ranks higher over the next few months the problem will be more difficult to deal with when she has matured

Unfortunately, she's hit the stage where she wants to start pushing you for dominance. The fact that she's no longer peeing outside means that she's marking her territory in your house. First sign of a dominance problem. The fact that she's now humping your leg is the second sign of a dominance problem. If I were you I would read up as much as I can about dealing with a non-aggressive but dominant dog. I've noticed that even if dogs are neutered at a young age, they still don't mellow out until they're mature.

A dog humping you is a dominance thing. You need to stop this behavior, a dog should never think it is dominant over any human, that is when there are problems. Next time the dog humps your leg flip her over on to her back, make her look into your eyes and very sternly tell her "NO!" Do this every time she humps you and have anyone else she humps do this. You need to correct this behavior while she is young. She will also be happier knowing her place.

the first guy is right its a dominance thing

you have to let her be in control a lil bit sometimes with like minor things

my golden did the same thing and we asked the vet and he said it was a dominance thing

im a very controlling person with my dog

    im very strict

but every now and then i would let her lay on the couch

or let her up on my bed

    and she stopped humping

Male canines hump out of sexual nature and dominance - woman canines hump just to exhibit dominance. She's attempting to assist you to comprehend she's the boss. do no longer enable her to do it. that's completely high-quality in case you wait till she's 6 months previous to have her spayed. in basic terms ascertain she does not pass around any sexually intact, mature men in the previous then:) The "vet" (yeah, proper) is in straightforward terms somewhat stupid. Why might a woman canines HUMP whilst searching for sexual delight? think of roughly it; woman canines do no longer hump *something* whilst they mate, they *get* humped. And human beings do no longer usually hump to coach dominance (according to danger twisted rapists, definite, yet they exhibit very animalistic dispositions, do no longer they?).

Normally, that's "seudo-mating" and it's a way to show dominance, or perhaps, she could just be playing around; her poor behavior is just a lack of proper training!

My female 40lb husky is always humping my 60lb male husky; it's just how she says, "I'm the boss, RAWR!"

Some dogs just don't loose the...well "urge". Not wanting to go to the bathroom outside is a problem, may want to start walking her. It would help get rid of some of her energy.
