stainless steel - homogeneous, alloys are considered 'solid solutions' and solutions are defined as homogeneous mixtures

granite - heterogenous (i think because the appearance is not uniform)

air - if it has no dust or smog, just pure gases...it is a solution. if it is polluted like it has dust or smog..then it's heterogeneous

blood - heterogeneous - it is considered a colloid and colloids are heterogeneous mixtures

hand lotion - heterogeneous, it is an emulsion and an emulsion is a colloid.

oil and water - heterogeneous, they don't even mix

    bird seed - heterogeneous

    chunky peanut butter - heterogeneous

    dirt -heterogeneous

vinegar - homogeneous, it is a solution of water and acetic acid...well it becomes heterogeneous if you get those fancy/aged variety where you have some particles floating

gasoline - homogeneous, a solution of hydrocarbons

Not an answer to the question but my chemistry worksheet has those exact eleven examples to classify in that exact order. Haha. Our teachers must have the same worksheet.
