What is the problem with cutting?
Yes, I see a conseler. But if cutting doesn't endanger your life, than why is it bad?

Its not so much that it endangers your life, as it further endangers your mental health. Not everything that is bad in life is so because it endangers your life.
Many have pointed out, some, sadly, without any sense of empathy, that it could endanger your life, so I won't further that point, but I will point out that it is, mentally, an unhealthy coping mechanism that you've developed for yourself. You are not facing or dealing with the issues at hand, and instead bring pain upon yourself.
I'm glad to hear that you've sought counseling. This is a question you should share with your counselor to help in understanding why you, personally, cut, and why you also seem to neutralize the threat that cutting has in your own mind.

It technically does endanger your life, but depending on the extent to which you cut. Small issues could be something like an infection or irritation or anything that is germ- or disease-related. Your body's not meant to be used for things for activities like that. Common sense there, but I'm not berating you. The worse things are like if you accidentally slipped or hit something important, or what if you did so much damage that it had trouble healing and it affected the rest of your health? There are many possible complications to wounds, and purposely causing them isn't exactly the best thing you can do to yourself. I think most people freak out because it's not really something someone should do, not to mention if you get tired of cutting one way, you may progress to do much worse damage and truly endanger yourself to a very bad extent. Anything is possible, honestly, and in spite of any mental issues, you really shouldn't cause physical harm to yourself because it could end up leading somewhere worse than you care to deal with.
Try to find another way to take care of that situation, if you can.

It DOES endanger your life, with chances of infection. Also, it is counter intuitive to the will to live, so it is a symptom of some other issue. Even if it doesn't kill outright, there is no 'normal' reason for it, therefore it should be looked into, and hopefully modified.
I must add that it can also cause an adrenaline surge, and that can be addictive, so maybe after a couple of times you're hooked on that internally generated drug. Others will drive fast, sky dive, and do other risky things for the same reason.

Cutting can get addictive, as you will crave the endorphins it gives out. All addictions are unhealthy, and beyond that, because it will take more each time to get the same kind of result, the cutting gets worse and more dangerous.
But I agree the very mild cutting doesn't seem too bad. It's a way to vent, you just have to be careful about forming an addiction.
EDIT: And with any open wounds there is the risk of infection.
The chance of hit an artery or going deeper than intended on accident, creates a risk of too losing too much blood.

At the moment it doesn't seem like much, just something to do as a coping mechanism or if you do it because you are bored. What happens if you flip out in depression and anger and are too focused on how you are feeling rather than how far down you are cutting. You could very easily cut too deep and damage an artery. This happened to me last week. It was a very serious reality check.

If you hit an artery you could lose a lot of blood and potentially die, so yes, it does endanger your life.

Well most people have the whole idea that self harm is bad. So that idea gets popular, and people get judged based on the popular opinion. Same way with most behaviors. The majority rules, and unfortunately your on the minority side of the argument so no one will agree with you that there is nothing wrong with cutting, its just popular opinion.

Its bad because you are so desperate for attention you are willing to do whatever it takes! and it does endanger your life.. you might not see how right now because the addiction is just getting started but if you dint stop soon you might cut too deep and could die! and plus you're leaving scars on your body that God made for you. Its not only physically dangerous its in your head also! It might even turn into suicide one day...
