  • How does the atomic structure of an acid affect its heat of neutralization?

For example, if using different acids of the same molarity, and neutralizing them with the same type/concentration of base, the heat of enthalpy would be different due to differences in the acids, right?

What does structure have to do with this?

Is the number of H ions in a molecule considered part of an acid's structure?

If you can include any websites that also help answer this, I would be very grateful.

    Thanks! :)

  • Is my sourdough starter done?

It's about 4 days old so far. It smells rather strongly of sourdough, but I still don't know if it's done yet. Every once in a while, there are 'frothy bubbles' but not enough that I would consider it froth...although I stir it...maybe if I didn't, it would look more frothy? lol.

One website says that when it's done, it may be puffy, which mine certainly isn't...there is often a light brown liquid on the top...but not what I would consider the dark brown of what I have heard hooch described as. But it smells sour! Ahhhhh!

I'm confused. Is my starter done starting? :)

  • How do I get my bamboo plant to be healthy?

I have a bamboo plant that is not doing very well. It's leaves are only a very light green, and it hasn't grown in a long time. I give it distilled water, sunlight, and even trim it's roots every once in a while (once a yearish) but nothing really seems to help. If it weren't for the fact that the leaves are still green, I would think it's dead; when I put in new water, the level doesn't seem to have gone down, except for an evaporated tiny bit.

  • Black socks, or brown?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

OK. So my brother is going to be in this organ concert, where everyone can see his socks while he plays the pedals. So the right color is VITAL!!!!! He is wearing a white shirt, tan pants, purple suitcoat and bowtie, and black shoes. Should he wear brown socks, that sort of match his pants, or black socks, that don't match his pants, but match his shoes?

  • Where can I find the song "Black Rose"?

It's an Irish fiddle song in 3/4, and I think in minor.

I would like either the sheet music, or a recording or video of someone playing it.

  • Can anyone figure out what is wrong?

I have a friend who says that:

in the middle of the night, she wakes up and is shaking uncontrolably, but otherwise cannot move, and sometimes cannot breathe. Afterwards, she says she feels a stiffness in her arms.

Sometimes, she does not shake, but instead can only move her toes. These symptoms ocur about once every 2 months, sometimes less.
