How do I get my bamboo plant to be healthy?

I have a bamboo plant that is not doing very well. It's leaves are only a very light green, and it hasn't grown in a long time. I give it distilled water, sunlight, and even trim it's roots every once in a while (once a yearish) but nothing really seems to help. If it weren't for the fact that the leaves are still green, I would think it's dead; when I put in new water, the level doesn't seem to have gone down, except for an evaporated tiny bit.

The bamboo you are talking about is most likely the Lucky Bamboo which isn't really bamboo it is a species of Draecena, you need to change the water completely once a week and once a month put one drop of a liquid fertiliser in it, you can also trim it to shape. Google it you will get a lot of info

Bamboo is usually pretty hardy. The bamboo on our property are completely ignored and keep expanding on there own. I suspect you are growing your plant indoors or in a very small container.

Bamboo grows well in full sun all day.
