This is caused by poor connections to the top or bottom edge of the screen. There is not a lot you can do about this as the lines will get steadily worse. The less you flex the screen the longer it will last.

It's either dead columns of pixels or screen persistence, which is like temporary burn-in.
Be more specific, though. What kind of vertical lines?
