    It depends on your job and on you. Usually most people will tell their boss after they reach their second trimsemester. But legally you don't have to tell them until 30 days before you will need to go on maternity leave. If your job is strenuous you may want to tell them sooner. But its really up to when you feel comfortable with it. Some women wait until they have their 20 week scan. Me personally am going to tell them tonight and I am 20 weeks tonight. My reason for waiting so long though is because last time I had told them when I was 15wks and I ended up miscarrying 9 days later at 16 1/2 weeks. So, I wanted to make sure I was going to make it to my fifth month first. But some women tell right away. ITs up to you and how you feel. But I would recomend waiting til least your second trisemester. Good luck and congrats.

    Depends on your job and your relationship with your boss. I was a vet tech and had to take x-rays and assist with anesthetic procedures so I felt that I had to tell her right away because I knew she did not want me to do those things while pregnant because of the risk. I have a really good relationship with her and I knew she would be happy for me so I felt ok with telling her right away (I was 6 weeks when I found out). If you have a job where there is no risk to you or your baby, then I say it is your business when you decide to tell people. Many women will wait until after the 1st trimester has passed. Good luck!

    I agree, it depends. I started telling co-workers about 9 weeks along and I didn't want him to hear it from them so I told my boss shortly after that. I was also having bad MS, I work at 4am so many days it was very very hard to stay awake the whole shift :) I often had to put my head down on my desk for a few moments.

    But if you don't feel comfortable telling your boss, wait until you're showing so much you can't put it off any longer!

    if ur job is safe tell them when you want. But I also would like to know when I should tell my boss. I don't do any xrays or stuff but people wait to tell after 3 months have passed. Should I wait till then. I work with small and big dogs. But I work with a chemical thats diluted with water so when should I tell my boss when I am and how would you tell your boss?

    Depends on your job, your manager, and the culture in your company. Usually you don't want to say anything until you pass the 1st trimaster. For me, though, I told my manager after 1.5 month because I had tons of morning sickness symptoms. I needed help and understanding from work. I did so knowing that my manager is a very nice person and she herself had 2 children. However, I did not let the rest of the department know until the 4th months.

    really, it depends on the situation... I told mine about a week after I found out, so at about 6 weeks, but that was because I was having pretty bad morning sickness while I was at work, and wanted to explain to him why I was going to the bathroom so much.

    it depends on the relationship bewteen you and your boss. and your type of work. I would tell him i was having morning sickness all the time and needed to stay home.
