I work in a school and my due date is about a week and a half before the end of the school year (well the last day kids will be there.) I am trying to plan when I will start maternity leave. I know things happen and I might have to start earlier than expected but a target date is what I'm trying to figure out.

How long before your due date are you or did you plan on starting your maternity leave. This is my 1st pregnancy and I'm still in my 1st trimester so I have no prior experience at this!!

When did you tell your boss that you were expecting? Any advice??

I am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant by my calculations and I have my first appointment when I am 8 weeks along. What can expect from this appointment? I assume a bloodtest to confirm pregnancy. Should I expect an ultrasound? Ive never had one before so if so, do I need to do anything to prepare??

I am looking at different baby things online and I am wondering where you or any of your friends have their registry?

I have taken HPTs and spoken with my doctor and I think I am 5 1/2 weeks pregnant. I have not had a blood test to confirm, my doc said she wanted to see me when I was 8 weeks so I have an appointment then. Today when I woke up and went to the bathroon I noticed a little brownish color on my TP when I wiped. Every time I used the bathroom it was there a little bit until this evening. Now it's gone. I don't want to over react but I can't stop thinking that something is wrong. I do have mild cramping but at this point I don't know if I really have them or if I have convinced myself I am having them.

I took another HPT tonight and it still comes back positive. My questions: have u spotted during early pregnancy and if yes, what happened. When u have an eptopic pregnancy does the HPT come back positive or negative?

I'm very excited because I've taken 3 home pregnancy tests and they are POSITIVE :) I don't want to get too excited until I have it confirmed by a blood test. But, I can't get in to see my obgyn until the middle of october! I told them I thought I was pregnant, they said congrats and we'll see u in a month! How soon did u get a blood test done? Should I try to get a blood test at my docs? (primary care physician) This is my first pregnancy. And I want to make sure I have the right vitamins and everything else.
