HPTs positive, can't get obgyn appnt for a month!?
I'm very excited because I've taken 3 home pregnancy tests and they are POSITIVE :) I don't want to get too excited until I have it confirmed by a blood test. But, I can't get in to see my obgyn until the middle of october! I told them I thought I was pregnant, they said congrats and we'll see u in a month! How soon did u get a blood test done? Should I try to get a blood test at my docs? (primary care physician) This is my first pregnancy. And I want to make sure I have the right vitamins and everything else.
THANK U FOR YOUR ADVICE!

Waiting a month or so for your first appt is normal. They can't really do anything when you're so early on anyways so they wait until you're about 9-10 weeks or after. There is so need for a blood test, if you have 3 positive urine tests than you're obviously pregnant lol. You can set up an appt with your regular doc but if you plan on seeing an ob/gyn for the pregnancy than they probably won't do much, another urine test if anything just to confirm. You can get otc prenatals or just regular vitamins until your appt, the vitamins help keep you healthy...not the baby so just make sure you're taking care of yourself and you'll be fine.
Congrats and good luck. :)

Most doctors don't want/need to see you until your around 10/12 weeks anyhow, so there really isn't any big rush to get in to see your dr. Pretty sure you don't need to get a blood test done if you've had 3 + hpt's. Just take your prenatal vitamins, eat healthy and make sure your getting lots of sleep and staying active.
Congrats!!

Don't be too worried. As long as you're seen by 16 weeks, you're okay.
I didn't get in until I was 12 weeks along.
You can get a prenatal vitamin at Walgreens or any drug store for that matter, they are just as good as the ones the doctor will prescribe to you. I chose to not even get mine filled, I just stayed on the ones I had bought at the drug store since I was 5 weeks along.
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't need a script for pre-natal vitamins, they do have some over-the-counter ones. (I used to get them to make my nails and hair better!) Eat well , don't drink alcohol and take care of youself! That's all. The rest just happens from here! And it's kinda fun. You might want to start keeping saltines on your night table though. Some people find it helpful to eat a few before getting out of bed to keep the morning sickness away.

i didnt get in to see my dr until i was 8 or 9 weeks pregnant because i had to wait for medicaid to kick in... so you dont have to worry. there really isnt any need to go see the dr right away unless something is wrong. go to the store and get prenatal vitamins and take them right away! drink plenty of water too. congrats on being pregnant!!!

waiting a month is normal.... And remember you can always go to Wal Mart or Walgreens and buy over the counter prenatal vitamins!

at least call them and ask if they can call in a prescription for prenatals at your pharmacy. you need them!
