Watch them as they were released that way there you are surprised when you are supposed to be and do not see the plot twists coming. He produced them in this order for a reason and since "a new Hope" , "Empire Strikes Back" , and "Return of the Jedi are so good that you can watch IV V VI then I II III and then th eorig three again...not alin one sitting though since that would take you 18 hours or so

Episodes IV, V and VI are the original triliogy - released between 1977 and 1983.

Episodes I, II and III where released over the last the seven or so years.

If you want to watch them in chronological order, watch from The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

That is the way Lucas intended them to be watched.

It depends. Writer/Director George Lucas started with episode IV in 1977 because he knew the state of the art technology was no where near where it needed to be for the filming of episodes I, II, and III. Thus the last half was filmed and released decades before the first half.

I think it's fun to watch them in the way they were released. But if you're going for a marathon type deal, start with episode I and work your way to VI.

Although, many avid Star Wars fans are loyal to the original trilogy release and don't speak highly of the newer additions. Bottom line, it's still a fantastic hexilogy. Enjoy!
