thats lies about the speed limit. if youre from nj you know that a 65mph posted speed limit means 70-80 in the slow lane and 80-90+ in the passing lane.
but anyway. i took 95 straight down and it took forever. dont do that. but iv been down in fl ever since. so i never really needed to know a better way. did it once and it sucked. but its the last time il ever have to make that drive again.

Yup
Two possible routing's both of which I've driven with a woman that i liked
1)From NJ head to Dover DE
Over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge & Tunnel to Norfolk VA
Down the Outer Banks
Ferry from Hatteras to Ocracoke Island
Spend night
Next day
Ferry from Ocracoke to the mainland
http://www.ncdot.org/transit/ferry/routes/
http://www.ocracokevillage.com/
Follow the coast thru Myrtle Beach ,Charleston >Savannah
Find FL
Routing 2
From NJ to Gettysburg PA>Harper's Ferry WV>Front Royal VA>take the scenic & slow route thru [what's gonna be really pretty at this time of year ]Skyline Drive thru Shenandoah NP
When Skyline Drive ends The Blue Ridge Parkway begins
Take Blue Ridge Pkwy into Ashville NC
http://www.asheville.com/lodging/
Next day find US 19
Take that into Atlanta and if you want to stay on US 19 which will take you all the way down the west coast of FL
Have a good trip regardless of how you route it>
Theoretically you could go down via Hatteras and up via Ashville that way you may see the Appalachians as their fall colors start to get more intense

Florida is great because of the fact it rather is one season all 12 months around (although for us natives, wintry climate is chilly, bt obvbiously by using northern standards it rather isn't any longer something). there are a number of places in that state the place you could stay to have a romantic time and/or relaxing time. Many factors of Miami are very advantageous, as is St Augustine. in case you do no longer suggestions being landlocked, then Orlando's relaxing to flow to. i've got not been to Pensacola, yet i've got heard good problems with the seashores... Heck, once you're searching for a sprint barren region, then i decide to advise sorting out the Everglades. it rather is imposible to no longer see some truly cool animals there.

DO NOT GO TO FLORIDA THIS TIME OF YEAR!!! It is hurricaine season as well as tropical depression season. I was married on Sept 30, 2000 and our trip to Florida was the worst!!! It was the worst flooding Miami had seen in 50 years. There are 49 other states to visit this time of year, stay away from the gulf states!!!
We were in the Keys and never made it to Key West because of the storms. We moved North into Miami and South Beach area and the humidity was in the 90%. We begged to get out just to get to Vegas!
Oh and BTW, I getting divorced now.

The gas shortages are only bad in some places so don't get scared, and they are getting better. Buy gas in Virginia not NC if possible it will be cheaper. And yes avoid DC and Atl during the busiest times.

Best wishes on your upcoming wedding!
Avoid the major cities at rush hour. Washington DC beltway, part of which is also I-95, is a nightmare at rush hour.
If I were you, I would leave in the wee hours, then stop for breakfast during rush hour.

If you are going for the beaches-try Venice beach it is secluded and not super crowded like the others-if you are going to Disney go on a weekday and not the weekend. Have fun!

Avoid going through Atlanta unless it is very late at night. The highway system there is so screwed up it has reached the point of dysfunctional and you will sit forever in traffic there.
