What are the reasons you support McCain/Palin?
Please tell me things besides problems with Obama/Biden especially if we're going to make claims about socialism or terrorism.
Be more specific than "he agrees with what I stand for."
On the other side of things, please, no Obama supporters slamming McCain.
I'm interested in the real reasons people support them. In the interest of full disclosure I'm an Obama supporter based on the issues. I'm not going to get into what issues I'm voting on as I don't want to skew the answers.
In this election it seems like a lot of McCain supporters are voting based on feelings--here's your opportunity to show me otherwise, or alternatively just scream hate speech and prove me right.
If you're going to state taxes please view this chart of the candidates tax plan before you answer. It basically shows your taxes wouldn't go up under Obama unless you make over $227,000 annually, and at that point it goes up an average of $12 up to the next bracket that starts at $603,000. McCain's plan shows tax cuts across the board. That doesn't sound realistic, where is the government going to come up with the difference? Spending less? Come on, we don't really believe either candidate will drastically decrease spending, do we?
Tax plans:
Three answers in and this is panning out about like I had expected.
Thank you to those of you who are actually giving reasons.
I remember "no new taxes" very clearly. It was said by George Bush senior right before he raised taxes. I don't see where you're trying to go with that one.

1. I think pulling out of Iraq right now would do more harm than good. We most definitely would be back there at some point and so I agree with McCain on Iraq.
2. I think in these times downgrading out military and weapons systems is the worst thing we could do. McCain wants to keep us safe. Obama is unrealistic in his foreign policy. He's too green.
3. I think people who have worked hard to get where they are out should keep the fruits of their labor. Of course they should pay their fair share in taxes but I don't agree with wealth redistrubution.
4. I like that McCain will grow our economy and make jobs. Obama's tax plan sucks. Yeah, I'll get more money with his tax cut but it will be worthless if I don't have a job.
These are just a few.

Not true if:
You sell stock,
You sell a second home,
or If you are small business person.
Really now, you don't remember "No new taxes?"
Sorry, of the two McCain will do less harm.
FDR took over in 1930 and it took until 1980 to deregulate.
No thank you!

I agree with McCain on energy.... trying to get that cleaner fuel out there such as the nuclear power plants and drilling for the short term... I also like that he want's to try and get rid of Tort lawsuits when it comes to medical lawsuits as they are a good portion of why we have such expensive health care... he also wants to increase flexibility when it comes to workers and their work hours so they can spend more time with their families. I like that he wants to give vouchers to parents so that they (the parents) can choose the school for the best education for their kids...
I know that some or all of his plans may not come into effect but I hope at least a few of his promises do...

As a middle class citizen whose income is below $50,000 a year, I am voting for McCain because:
I do not believe in or support class envy; the rich pay more than their fair share of taxes. Thus, we should "all" pay our "fair" share of taxes.
I like lower taxes for small businesses, lower capital gains taxes, and lower taxes on oil companies. Thus, businesses will employ more people, create more jobs, and keep jobs in the United States.
I do not believe in the "death tax." We have already been taxed on the money we earned... so why should we be taxed after we die. Inheritance taxes should be completely eliminated.
I want the United States to expand exploration and drilling for oil. Thus, we will become less dependent on foreign oil and foreign nations.
I want the United States to invest more in nuclear power.
John McCain's beliefs and values are closer to my own.
I want someone who will appoint non-activist judges.
I want someone who supports and will defend the Second Amendment.
I want someone who will not cower to foreign nations and dictators that wish to do harm to the U.S.
I want to secure private enterprise and expand capitalism. Moreover, I do NOT support socialism.
I like the freedom to choose my healthcare provider and choose my own hospital.
And the list goes on and on as to why I vote Republican.

My guy McCain has one huge thing well two. He is not Obama and he picked Palin as VP. He is against the murder of babies who are in or partially in the womb. Murdering innocent Children, not some blob of cells and as early as 5 months obviously feel pain. I am against the man who thinks babies are punishment. I am against a man who attended a racist Marxist America hating Church which the left and the media have hidden and have instead made up lies about Palin and made incest jokes about her family and berated the heroic sacrifice of a 5 year POW and puts forth this man whose whole premise is a lie. Beyond Race - attends racist church Beyond Party - never reached across aisle. What else do you want!!!

The reason I support McCain is because he isn't Obama. He has served his country with honor and wants to reduce the size of govt. Obama, he has only attended a racist church for 20 years, and doesn't remember a thing, what a buffoon!

McCain. He has the NRA endorsement. And our next president is likely to appoint Supreme's. The recent 5-4 Heller decision is too important to the fundamentals of freedom, upon which we all depend, to allow a Democrat to appoint anyone to the bench.

He agrees with what I stand for... :) I support his view on the war in Iraq, and abortion. I think Palin is a great all around woman and is an asset to this country. I like that McCain wants to stand up to illegal aliens (of course, so does Obama, so I do agree with that issue with him), I like that McCain has lots of experience in foreign policy, and other areas, and then Palin fills in the gaps with her executive experience, and actually has done good things for Alaska. I think they make a great team and could change America for the better.

I help Obama, i don't help voter fraud. those thoughts pop out each election approximately the two factors and that they finally end up getting somewhat ridiculous. the biggest problem is they around up human beings without jobs, then pay them to fulfill quotas of the style of people they have registered. it quite is a splendidly criminal element to do (and relax assured ACORN isn't the only company that does this), in spite of the shown fact that it ends up in issues like those you're seeing now in accordance to the Drudge checklist's hyperlinks, on each occasion ACORN officers have gained registrations that look unlawful they checklist them precise away (a minimum of in Las Vegas they did besides--it quite is the place the Drudge checklist hyperlinks rapidly). in the event that they at the instant are not reporting them, then it quite is unlawful. Now, the different area of it quite is--registering somebody illegally isn't comparable to voter fraud-as registering to vote isn't comparable to voting. If somebody confirmed up and tried to vote below a form of fake registrations then it may be unlawful. Mark my words-none of this could volume to something different than a slap on the wrist and the termination of the folk who illegally crammed out their varieties.

They are pro life which is important, It scares me when Obama talks about taking our nukes away in such a nuclear happy world. I think that with an Democratic congress and a democratic president we will have a bunch of new government welfare programs;
