It May Not Be Getting Enough Ventilation, Try Putting It Closer To A Window, Or Have A Desktop Fan Nearby.

Try and keep your iMAC on a hard surface like a table and not your lap. This will reduce the amount of heat that is generated by allowing more air to flow into the cooling fans. if you find that it is still staying incredibly hot take itintoo the genius bar and since you just bought it, it should be under warrantyy.
