how long does it take for a summer tan to fade it's now fall?

i been waiting for six weecks now it has faed but it's not my winter coler yet. my tan was turnign burn now the brown has faed mostly it's mostly tan now oragne kind i whant it to be my winter skin coler how much longer i avoid the sun if it's hot i go ouyside in long sleves and long panst and sunscreen. i got tan again on september 1 i was upset for not wearing a long seleve shirt outisde so it has been 6 weecks and i whant my tan to fade i hate tanning i tan from the sun even though i have white skin not pale just not exacly tan eather. im tired off waiting for it to fade
