do great billed parrots do well as caged singles?

The great-billed parrots (Tanygnathus Megalorynchos) sold at my local pet store are big but seemingly quite tame. They cost a lot, though. Would they make good pets when kept indoors without mates? What temperatures do they prefer? Is there anything specific about the species that one should know before trying to keep one?

I could provide a cage about 3' x 3' and 5' high. Would this be suitable for the bird? To conserve the furniture, I could only let it out of the cage for a few closely supervised hours each day.

Actually single birds make the best pets, when they have a friend bird they usually prefer the bird to you. Being an only bird it will need lots of companionship from you. Your cage sounds big enough for one

A few hours each day would be perfect.
