Tattoo Artist Responsibility?

Dose or should the Tattoo Artist Responsibility to the costumer of their choice of Tattoo? For example We all know that motorcycles and Tattoos some times go hand in hand. I was hang out at a buddies shop where some hard core motorcycles riders get work done.

A guy come in and Asked so a Son of Anarchy tat like in the TV show Every thing stopped dead still. I broke the quite and asked if he was kidding he said no. I told him that way a bad Ideal and he should go NOW. He got in is car and left. Would some tattoo Artist ink him knowing that a tat like that could get the costumer hurt?

I'm not even sure what you are really asking but I think what you want to know is: Is it okay for a tattoo artist to turn a customer away based on their concept for a tattoo?

I've seen this happen a bunch of times, it isn't that unusual. If someone wants a swastika tattooed on them and the artist isn't comfortable with it, it is certainly within their rights to turn them away.

I've also seen tattoo artists talk people who aren't heavily tattooed out of getting work done in highly visible areas. For instance, none of the tattoo artists I know will tattoo someone's hands or neck if they aren't already heavily tattooed.

It is totally up to the discretion of the artist.

I agree, if the tattoo is just far to out there and the artist disagrees with it he should have the right of refusal. I know a shop that won't do hands, feet or necks. It's all about what the tattoo artist feels comfortable with.

Its really up to the artist. I have a friend that wont tattoo names unless its your children's, or pet for some weirdos.
