can pet gerbils eat acorns out of the yard? my daughter is trying to feed them to him.?

i know it sounds like a well, duh, kind of question, but i've read on several different sites that different things can upset their stomachs and they can have some fruits and veggies and nuts, but not others. i haven't found acorns specifically mentioned. i was wondering if anyone knew. thanks!

Acorns actually tend to be poisonous. You should never let your small pet eat anything other than what you absolutely know to be safe.

    No!

You never know what could be on them, anything from fertilizer, to pestacide, to remenansts of some little kid's Halloween candy they dropped! All around bad!
