Can a 1.74 GHz processor run a game that asks for a 2.5 GHz processor?
I have an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+ 1.74GHz.
The minimum PC requirements for Warhammer online is a 2.5 GHz P4 processor or equivalent. Someone told me that AMD measure their GHz differently than other companies, and that a 1.74 is actually around a 2.1 or 2.3 to other brands. My question is would my processor be able to run Warhammer? My other specs exceed what they ask for. I have 2 GB of RAM, and a 512MB video card when they only ask for 1.5 GB of RAM and a 128MB video card.

Any processor can play any type of game. But there is a downside if the processor is slower than the minimum, there will be lag.
BTW, some of AMD processor are able to be overclocked in the BIOS startup setting accessed through F8.
But, your 2GB of RAM could overlap the gap in the processor.
Why don't you try out the game for maybe 10 minutes and see what happens.

Well, you do have enough RAM and a better video card here. But, chances are that it might be impossible to run it with an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+ at 1.74Ghz, unless you can overclock it. Try doing it through BIOS and see if it can meet minimum specs. Otherwise, upgrade your processor.

50/50. some courses will nonetheless enable them to place in in spite of if the minimum isn't meet. Others won't. the actual question is will the game run on a 2.2 Ghz processor. probable no longer. Or if it does it is going to very sluggish and jerky and probable shop freezing up the entire computing gadget. As reported above, in case you will stumble on a demo/trial of the game, try it. If it quite works, great. If no longer, it did no longer value you something to objective it.

Unfortunately not, even if AMD did "measure Ghz differently (not that Ghz actually matter)" I doubt that CPU could run the game.
The best way to find out is to play it :) it won't make your computer explode if it is too slow :p

yes it will...
the 3000+ means that the CPU runs at the performance of a P4 3.0GHz or better...
that's how AMD try to irritate Intel back then...
