Christians: Why do some of you call Atheists names?

What in your Bible give you permission to call "people you disagree with" names?

How can you expect them to respect you if you call them names.

Name-calling does not persuade anyone of anything.

Why can't you make your point without degrading your opponent regardless of how he or she behaves?

Please help me understand how name-calling gets your point across better...

Update:

Dios es amor siempre: You guys? Who is you guys? Who are you grouping me with? How do you know what group I am in?

=)

When people have no intelligent answer to questions, they resort to name-calling. I've seen it on both sides, to be fair.

And Fireball is right, she has been called a lot of names here and also threatened.

In respecting the potential of God. I don't assume God cares about me. My vanity is so small it moves through mountains and is clocked in nano seconds. Completely untamable. I am mortal. I am mammal. I am blessed by whatever and thankful for existing. I will die. I am at peace with that. I don't have unsettled issues in my soul. Not a one. I am moral. My morals are referable to Catholicism. OR any davidian model the is based on the ten commandments. That is the guide to getting along with others. I would raise my children to that code. All the rest is completely irrelevant hogwash and restating of the basics for people that are dense and disgustingly and sloppily vain. I feel that I am surrounded by them. You don't need a magic wand forgiveness. You need to be thankful to whatever when you survive your experiences and consider the state of your conscience. So to get to the point already...I do have a title. and that is because I was raised with a set of values that has saved my ***. That, and I have considered God to the point of ultimate potential, which literally can be anything and I believe God just might be EVERYTHING. who knows? Maybe God is nothing? Anyways. there is a brand for that. So, hi, im Nate, the agnostic.

You guys are so funny and I often wonder if you realize how stupid most of your questions/answers are in regards to name calling. This is a two way street here. No side bashes each other more then the other. However, only ignorance and arrogance points to just one side claiming they are always the victim........ LOL

I think I've thrown the "moron" term around a few times. But it wasn't in response to atheistic views. It was in response to horrible grammar, repetitive questions and lack of logic.

As for name calling, I urge you to browse previous questions. It's a two-way street out here.

I'm a proud Christian and I don't call Atheists any names. I instead pray for them that they will see the light and believe in God before its too late and they find themselves in Hell for eternity. Its probably those so-called Christians that are the names callers.

"Dios es amor siempre": you mean the Christians with their eternal persecution complex?

Source(s): Anyway, it goes both ways, like she and others have stated.

Perhaps the people claiming to be Christians and calling names aren't in fact actually Christians, but are non-Christians intending to make Christians look bad.

Perhaps everything on the internet isn't as it appears.

The Bible says to stone non believers to death. Nevermind calling names.

Christians aren't allowed to judge anyone. I am a Christian and I am saying this. Only God can judge atheists, and agnostics, and everyone on earth, because he judges fairly, where we judge through bias.
