Did you hear that Harvick & Edwards got into it today?

The incident started in the garage beside Harvick's No. 33 Chevrolet when Edwards walked over from his area, located two spaces down, to talk to Harvick, witnesses said.

After heated words were exchanged, the witnesses said, Harvick appeared to turn away from Edwards, who then reached for Harvick's shoulder, as if to turn him back around. Harvick responded by shoving Edwards, who landed on the No. 33 Chevrolet, denting the right-front section of the hood.

People who saw the altercation, including the driver of Harvick's motorcoach, Jeff Smith, jumped in to separate Edwards and Harvick, the witnesses said. At one point, Smith had Edwards in a headlock, the witnesses said, but no punches were apparently exchanged between the drivers.

Yeah i heard about it during Nascar Now. No penatlys were given out thank god. It also gives nascar a good rivilary that will maybe get more fans =p.

Bad thing... i like them both. I dont want them to wreck each other on the track too much. Maybe bumps everynow and then.

EDIT: Foxfire turn to ESPN 2. They are talking about it now.

Lol i agree, Harvick is a big guy, but so is Edwards. Harvick definatly is a fighter though. I cant even count how many times he almost got in a fight.

*cough* Watkins Glen vs Montoya *cough*

Yeah I read about it and saw it on NASCAR Now. Edwards should have walked away when Harvick walked away from him but apparently he probably did not get the right answer or was not satisified with the conversation and decided to continue it further. Harvick did not want anymore of it and pushed Edwards away and ultimatly he landed on the 33 car and made a dent in the hood. Hopefully Carl will learn and he can avoid something like this in the future

For anyone who hasn't seen it:

Harvick/Edwards confrontation: UPDATE: hearing there was a confrontation in the Nationwide Series garages at Lowe's Motor Speedway between Carl Edwards and Kevin Harvick over last Sunday's Talladega wreck. Details as they are found will be posted.(PRN's Garage Pass Radio Show)(10-9-2008)

UPDATE: Witnesses said Edwards approached Harvick in the garage stall housing Harvick's #33 Chevy and engaged in conversation. Following what a witness called a heated discussion, Harvick turned to walk away and Edwards grabbed him by the shoulder and spun him around. According to reports Harvick then shoved Edwards in retaliation, forcing Edwards onto the hood of the #33 Chevy. #33 crew chief Rick Ren pointed to a dent in the hood where he said Edwards landed. Others on site then proceeded to separate the drivers, and witnesses said Edwards was grabbed around the neck in a headlock by Harvick's motor-home driver, Jeff Smith. No punches were thrown, witnesses said. NASCAR did not immediately comment on the issue. Edwards and Harvick were not immediately available to comment. Witnesses claim the verbal exchange Thursday was in reference to a handwritten note Edwards left in a seat on Harvick's airplane following the AMP Energy 500 last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. The note facetiously thanked Harvick for disparaging comments he made toward Edwards on ABC following a multi-car wreck on Lap 174 of 188, which was triggered when Edwards tapped teammate Greg Biffle. Harvick was collected in the incident.(ESPN)(10-9-2008)

Yeah, I saw it on Nascar Now this afternoon. Marty Smith was saying how he saw the altercation. Where the heck were the cameras?!

Go Harvick for not taking any crap from Carl though.

OMG. I can't believe that. Well I guess thats what get for not watching or reading anything today. Geez.... I can't believe that. I'm a little bit surprised that Carl was the one that got shoved lol. I know Kevin was PO'ed after Dega saying Edwards raced like a "pansy" riding around in the back all day but he better be careful, Carl is quite a bit bigger than Busch, Montoya, and Biffle.

But still, WooHoo! Goo Kevin! LOL

I just finished reading an article on this. racingwin.com funny thing. Kevin just stated the facts and Carl, knowing for the second time in a row messed up couldn't take it. Carl single handedly took all but Jimmie and the bif out of the chase. Harvick had every right to be pissed and carl should have left it alone.

Whats NASCAR going to do now fine them both points and cash? BIG whoop! How about putting Carl at the end of the line in points and the feild. Better yet why not have the cat in the hat just put carl in a truck!

Source(s): Hey Jimmie watch your fenders saturday night. someone is playing video games out there and running cars over.... Just havin some fun folks....

They did have an altercation. It dates back to Sunday when Carl caused "the big one". He admitted it was his fault and even commented about how he spent all day trying to avoid the idiot who would cause the big one and it turned out to be him. Well, Harvick called Edwards a pansy, Edwards left Harvick a note on the seat of his plane. Things must have come to a head today. They will both have to go to the "principals office" and will probable get detention. No fightin on campus boys. And if they do engage in fisticuffs, I got my money on Edwards. He works out and is in reputedly the best shape of any of the guys in NASCAR.

WEll I am sure that there are going to be some hard feelings about what happened last Sunday. Carl needs to leave well enough alone. I am sure that they are going to be warned about taking it out on the track. SO hopefully they wont.

I think Keven was actually trying to avoid this confrontation but Carl wanted to pursue it. He should have just left well enough alone.

Its on Nascar.com now, I got a email alert from Racingwin.com today, I totally cracked up when I read it.. These two guys are in the chase, and we know Nascar likes penalities.. Its raining back there just build a boxing ring in the infield, let'm duke it out.. Hope they settle this before the race, don;'t need either of these guys doing anything stupid on the track, and take out other drivers..

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  • 1 decade ago

well, i like the fire each of these two has but am not a fan of either one. but at least now harvick can say he won something during the chase, and knocked edwards over to do it... heck, that's his first win in almost two years.

    ;-)

    jo-KING!!!
