The real deal on racism?

Why is it that blacks can use the N word but whites can't? Blacks fought long and hard to desegregate schools so why do so many go to mostly black colleges? What is the difference between Rev. Wright and David Duke besides skin color? 75% of black babies are born out of wedlock and racism is the main cause of black poverty and crime?

I do not condone the N-word, but...

Blacks have always made the best out of a bad situation; they turned a demeaning word into one of endearment...kinda like women calling each other *****'s (you'd better not call them that!)

Whites cannot say the N-word, since Jim crow was ONLY 40 years ago, and the word still holds a sting when coming from whites.

Most blacks don't go to historically black colleges, but a good chunk do go to create great networks.

David Duke had political power, Wright does not.

The number children born out of wedlock is sky rocketing in ALL of america's ethnicities. But, as I said earlier, blacks have a way of making something out of nothing. When the war on drugs began about 35 years ago, stricter laws were set in place to lock up users who were black. 1 ounce of crack cocaine gets you 1 year in jail, while 10 ounces of powdered cocaine (a white drug) gets you a year. Seeing that whites are 70% of all drug users, they only account for 10% of the people in jail for those violations. needless to say, racism and racial profiling had an enormous effect on lockup rate and severity in punishment. With an entire generation of fathers unequally incarcerated, black mothers had to raise children on their own. But it takes men to teach boys to be men and make a complete family. Unfortunately, many of these boys never had a man to teach them these things. White who commit these crime more than blacks were given a better chance at remaining with their family; them using drugs hasn't effected their family's outcome, now has it?

All of black poverty can be traced back to slavery and Jim Crow ( It has been studied by anthropologists.

Crime is due to poverty and economic standing. The rate of crime in a poor white neighborhood is no different than in a black one. There are FAR more white crimes, but the do not make mainstream media, because minorities are the scapegoat.

    ......

So what is the cause of:

the white divorce rate (65% of white marriages end in divorce),

the percentage of all drug users who are white (70%).

The heavy episodic drinking (30% of whites engage in this behavior while only 12% of blacks do.)

The lifetime cocaine use (7.4% of white have used cocaine as opposed to 1.8 percent of blacks)

, and all the other health risk behaviors listed on the center for disease control website.

i think blacks can use the N word, only cuz it was used for and towards them, and it was adopted by them to mean several things now.

im sure the black colleges has alot to do with location. and maybe a comfort thing. im sure a black college has more programs and activities that are targeted more towards blacks.

desegregation and your own personal freedom i think are 2 different things.

hey im white and i had a baby out of wedlock, i dont want to be married so maybe thats how black people feel too.

and lack of opportunity and oppression is what makes people live in poverty and commit crimes.

I really don't know why blacks use the N word. To me its ignorant if they do and get mad if a white person uses it. And most colleges are mostly white owned and mostly have black students, most don't feel comfortable not being around their own. As for the wedlock, and crime stuff, that varies from person to person, everyone has their reasons.

    a. I think it's stupid that only black people can use the N word. Isn't the whole point of abolshing racism so that we can create equality, and not so that only one race can say something?

    b. Yeah, it's like sometimes I think it wouldn't even make a difference if they still had schools for white and school for blacks. (not that I think it's a good idea.)

    What's wedlock?

And i do think racism is one factor that cause black poverty

(people not hiring someone because they're black, they'd prefer to choose someone white etc)

But that's not always true, my dad has a pretty good/well paying job. and the black people in my area aren't poor.

I think in the back of our minds we have gained this sense of black identity and feel we cant identify with whites, and thats what happens in a ghetto. A ghetto is a mindset; where everyone thinks the same or experienced the same things.

There are more black racists than white ones, so I don't have my sympathy.

They are stupid if they use the n word, since it should actually be offensive to them. Back in segregated times, they were always called that.

this is a subject that is being blown out of proportion.so what, who cares who uses this word. if everyone ignored this, it would deflate and we would all move on to another subject.
