Have You Heard The The Alaskan Legislative Panel Concluded Palin Abused Her Power?

Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her power as governor by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, the chief investigator of an Alaska legislative panel concluded Friday.

Investigator Stephen Branchflower, in a report by a bipartisan panel that investigated the matter, found Palin in violation of a state ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain.

The investigation revealed that Palin's husband, Todd, has extraordinary access to the governor's office and her closest advisers. He used that access to try to get trooper Mike Wooten fired, the report found.

Branchflower faulted Sarah Palin for taking no action to stop that. He also noted there is evidence the governor herself participated in the effort.

The nearly 300-page report does not recommend sanctions or a criminal investigation.

    Well now that's over.

Can we get on with investigating the guys in Washington who made a couple trillion dollars disappear and now want to own our banks.

One of the worst things that could happen to us is taking place right now and people are stewing over some guy that got fired in a state that half of America couldn't find on a map if their life depended on it.

Every spouse is typically consulted by governors, presidents ect.

That aside, The report DID conclude that Palin did abuse her power, but was within her jurisdiction, so it's a catch-22 and she's basically off with a warning.

Yes I did! This story made my night. No worries Obama supporters. He has this election locked for sure. This just goes to show McCain's poor judgment. Again! His first executive decision was to pick a VP. Well he saw a young, attractive woman, but that was all. She was McCain's "Obama." He saw nothing but a woman to pander women voters. And now it has hit him in the groin like a slap shot from a wild hockey pit bull mom from 5 feet away. He's gonna be hurting until election day when Obama wins handily!

Thanks for info. This is the first I heard of it. Not surprised. I had an infamously bad boss as abusive & controlling as Palin. That's why even though I don't know her personally, I know what working under her is all about.

The Republicans are already charging that the legislative panel is biased as a ploy to dismiss and therefore minimize the damage.

Sure, people will want to see the Sarah Palin who has made herself infamous with her flamboyant behavior

Sorry, but they may have found she abused her powers, but they also said Palin didn't break the law. Where this will go from here . . . I guess we'll have to wait and see what the main stream press decides.

Yes, politicians abusing their power isn't something new, look at Bush & Cheney.

However, McCain had the bad judgement to pick someone like Palin, but now he has an excuse for dumping her.

A violation of ethics, by a politician? Heaven forfend!!

It wouldn't surprise me if she suddenly exited from the scene, and they find someone else to aid and abet McCain!!

Yes, I heard it. Most of the country knows by now. McCain's campaign is doomed.

Palin should go to jail, but unfortunately they didn't recommend a criminal investigation or sanctions.
