1. 17 different points are located on the C of a circle and each point is connected to all other points by line segments. At most, how many segments thus formed can be diameters of the circle?

How deep will sand be in a rectangular box with inside dimensions 300 cm long, 200 cm wide and 20 cm deep if 600 thousand cubic cm of sand is evenly distributed?

    The answer to the first question is 8 segments.

    The reason is being is that a diameter consists of two points.

    If you have 16 points on the circumference of a circle then you can have at most 8 diameters formed since two points are needed for each diameter. Since you have 17 points, the extra point doesn't form a diameter since it doesn't have another point to use.

    2. You can't solve x/z because the two variables are independent. The answer is N/A because there is no relationship connecting y to w or x to w.

    3. The length * width of sandbox = 300 * 200 = 60,000 square centimeters of sand. To determine height occupied by the sand:

    600,000 / 60,000 = 10 centimeters. 10 cm is the height of the sand.
