i can't blame you for feeling confused. didn't he tell you what it is exactly he's referring to?

however thinking back from when guys said the same thing to me (several times), i'm pretty sure it meant that he's confused about things. that there's nothing wrong with you but he's not sure what he wants. that usually is the case with guys. so he may need some space.

he DOES owe you a proper explanation though, and i suggest you meet him to talk about exactly where you both stand in this situation, so that you can be sure he's not trying to take advantage of you or take you for a ride.
