Can I create a user account on my PC that does not allow my teenage kids internet access?

I'd like my boys to be able to their homework -- without the temptations of going on line to chat with friends, check out their myspace page, etc. Right now, we enter the password for them, but they frequently are playing around on the web rather than doing their homework. Thanks!

attempt 1 - Do you have Windows XP? If you do, make a limited account, and delete any shortcut on their account that says "Internet", "Firefox", "AOL", or things like that.

attempt 2 - Try using a parental control system, like mcafee's, where you have a password (that you only know) to open the internet.

If the above don't work - give your kids their own PC, without internet, where they can only do homework, then give them the privelege to use the PC with internet when they can. If they absolutely need internet, use parental controls, and block any sites (on their account, not yours) that have to do with myspace, etc.

Why don't you just do the whole "teaching to use the internet responsibly" thing? Or not let them on the computer when doing homework?

Or if you want a quick and easy option..
