How does Verizon's V-Cast with Rhapsody work?

I have received my phone (FINALLY!) and I've installed all the necessary software. I've figured out how to use it as well, but what I want to know is what exactly is the $14.99 paying for. Yes, I've looked it up on the website but I still find it to be unclear, or maybe the excitement of having a new phone is overriding logic. Whatever the case may be, is the unlimited access to the Rhapsody library free (or is it truly ninety-nine cents per song) or is the monthly fee paying for my ability to transfer songs from my computer to my phone, OR is it both? I just find it terribly confusing. Excuse my wordiness and denseness. Thanks.
