my son has a lump on his breast that is above the nipple and about the size of a quater what should i do?

    First, never refer to your son's pectoral muscles as breast, it might confused things and cause an interesting reaction from him :-)

    Second, always err on the side of caution. Have it checked out. It might very well be nothing, but IF it is something, the earlier it is caught the better.

    It's always safest to have it checked by a doctor, but if he is an adolescent, it is quite normal to have inflammation of the glands in that location during puberty. It's caused by hormones, causing mammary stimulation in both males and in females, however, is more successful in females. It also causes sensitivity in the pectoral region, but it will go away over time.

    Call his Dr and make an appointment today. It could be a very simple condition and it could be more serious. Don't procrastinate on this one.

    my husband had that, we went to se the Doc and turns out its stored fat, but never be so sure. Take him to see a Dr.

    if its under the skin you mean i had that once it just went away it was painful when squished or pushed on but about 2 weeks later it just was gone
