Update 2:

I really do know what to do with Hydrogen Peroxide I am in the medical field. I just wanted to know that if I put it in a spay bottle would it lose it's Hydrogen(the part that bubbles when it's put on any protein like blood . That's all! I like to clean my counters in my kitchen to kill any germs that My cats might leave and I don't mind if my cats are on my counter. That's why I disinfect it with peroxide instead of some commercial cleaner

I'm assuming you mean hydrogen peroxide. I wouldn't use it even though the stuff is fairly weak, it can still bleach some materials.

I'd use a spray bottle of alcohol (it's what I have in my kitchen) I actually have a bottle of spray cleaner like 409/Fantastic etc that I do the heavy cleaning with. Once complete, I "shine" glass / ceramic/ stainless steel with a clean paper towel and the alcohol. I buy it at home depot by the quart and it last me 6 to 9 months.

You could use the alcohol as the disinfectant. (Ever look at the ingredients in Lysol spray?)

I don't get will it lose its zip...what? Are your cats running & sliding across it?

Here's the list of things you can do with peroxide:

    1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. (I do it when I bathe.) No more canker sores, and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.

    2. Let your toothbrushes soak in a cup of peroxide to keep them free of germs.

    3. Clean your counters and table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters. (So, there's the answer to your question!)

    4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.

    5. I had fungus on my feet for years until I sprayed a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.

    6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. My husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine but was healed by soaking in peroxide.

    7. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.

    8. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes, and then blow your nose into a tissue.

9 If you have a terrible toothache and cannot get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.

    10. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through You will not have the peroxide-burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown, reddish, or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually, so it's not a drastic change.

    11. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.

    12. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour it directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water! Repeat if necessary.

    13. I use peroxide to clean my mirrors. There is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this.

Yes,definitely. Peroxide and water in a spray bottle is a good idea. You should Google, "Ten awesome uses for peroxide".

I've never heard of using peroxide as a cleaning agent before, so I wouldn't recommend it. Normally, I'd suggest a diluted bleach mixture for that sort of cleaning, but not when you have pets.

Try a mix of vinegar and water. Vinegar is a good natural cleanser and is safe for pets, and the smell might be a good deterrent for them.

There's a couple of things you can use...

Mixture of Bleach and Water in a spray bottle

Mixture of Original Scent Pine Sol or Lemon Scent Pine Sol and water

Or your typical bleach clean up....

I dont have pets but I love to use my Pine cleaners. Pine Power is also a good one.

I would recommend using a bucket with HOT water...and do any of these mixtures..

Source(s): I love cleaning products. Im in love with Pine Sol! Its a fresh scent, it disinfects and the smell lingers. Theres nothing like filling a bucket with hot water and Original Scent Pine Sol......soapy steamy water!

I don't think it sanitizes. You need to put a bleach and water mixture in the bottle. It disinfects and kills germs too.

i wouldnt. it smells and can stain clothes and may not be good for your cats. now my mom had that problem and she bought orange cleaner like orange glow multi purpose cleaner. something about the orange scent the cats dont like and they didnt get up there anymore. also you dont have to worry about hash chemicals.
