Need to Get Smoke Smell Out of Hair Fast?

I lived with some super heavy chain smokers for about 5 yrs and now that I've moved out I need to get rid of the smoke hair. I still have a lingering smoke smell after a quick shower. Any ideas of shampoos or bathing/showering style?

take a longer shower. get a deep shampooing shampoo... with maybe a strong smell. also, you might have to take a bath and soak your body/hair in some silk bath that smells good.

herbal essences has this stuff called refreshing spray its like 4 dollars you can spray it in your hair(if the smell doesnt come off in the bath)after tyhe shower and it will cover it up well. Merely washing it, doesn't always get the smell out completely. Wash it good

Please don't use lemon juice! The acid in it bleaches your hair and leaves it dry and brittle.

Sounds odd, but rinse your hair with vinegar, leave for about 10 minutes and then rinse out with water. You can also put a cup of vinegar into your washing and that should take out the smell. Vinegar is a natural disinfectant and readily absorbs smells. It also leaves your hair soft and shiny, is really effective against dandruff, and works as a fabric softener aswell!

Wash, wash, wash. It should go away in a few days. Actually, I've never had a problem getting that Vegas spell out of my hair in one shampoo, but I didn't live in a Vegas casino for 5 years, so I'd imagine this will take a few more washings.

You'll have that smell for a while, but try spending some time outside. And if you're having problem with your clothes or furniture smelling of smoke, put some dryer clothes around your home, they "soak" up the smell.

    shower 10 times

  • a really strong shampoo and put in some sort of hair product after wards to let that smell linger

Do a vinegar rinse on your hair. It helps remove build-up from your hair, and it works as a deodorizer and leaves your hair shiny. Mix one part vinegar and one part water. Spray it in your hair and rinse before shampooing and conditioning as usual. The vinegar smell dissipates, so your hair won't smell like it.

That's strange. So even after you shower and wash your hair you still have the smell in your hair? Wash your hair twice and rinse well. Maybe it's in the towels or clothes. Launder everything and put vinegar in the washer. See what happens.

Use a clarifying shampoo and a good conditioner. Also, drink lots of water to help flush your system of the impurities. It will take a little time though. You could also try your hairdresser.
