I there a correlation between religion, dislike of tipping, and?

narrow mindedness?

I was just blocked by a user for expressing the view that money is more useful to a waitress than any "God". Why would one ask a question concerning finances and "God" if one didn't want answers other than the one that the asker specifically already had in mind? And is this just an isolated incident, or will future questions reveal a correlation between people who dislike tipping and people who block other users? Or is the correlation between religious folk and a propensity for blocking when they don't like the answer?

Just wondering.

And as an aside: wouldn't a true Christian rather give the money to a waitress who has none than a church which has plenty? Seems more Christian, ya know...

Oh yeah. ANYONE who waits tables will tell you that the Sunday brunch shift is the most dreaded. My husband waited tables in college, and he has quite a disdain for that crowd. Not only are they bad tippers, but they also made nasty comments about working on the Sabbath.

He even got tips sometimes in the form of religious tracts.

I use to wait tables at a pizza place where there are 22 different churchs in a 5 mile radius, and whenever the church rush would come, the waitstaff were always in a crabby mood due to the fact that religious people tipped HORRIBLY. You could say that is my opinion, but for me, it is a FACT.

On Saturday night shifts, about 30 minutes til closing, the pentecostals came in after their Saturday night gathering. They were always rude, looked at the workers with arrogant distasteful looks, and if the server was lucky, would get no more than a $1 tip. No matter the tab. And this happened every Saturday night! Not only that, they would congregate in the middle of the dining room for half an hour after they have paid their ticket. And we couldn't clean the floors until the dining room was empty. So, the waitstaff wouldn't clock out until 2 hours after closing. Any other night, we got out about 10 minutes after closing. I hated that shift! Sunday afternoons were okay, though.

Oh, and the children! Don't get me started on the children!

I don't know about other Christians but I know that we're supposed to give. I think that it's really horrible how christians tend to be known for being poor tippers. So I don't think there's a correlation, at least for all christians. But you'll probably see more of this because there are a lot of "Christians" out there who aren't loving and generous as God commanded. As for the narrow mindednesss, that's a matter of opinion. And yes, a true Christian should give to the needy before the rich.

I've no idea. I'm atheist, and I tip if the service isn't terrible, if that helps your statistics any.
