Hi. My Pepper Corn Tree (Schinus Molle) is always dropping leaves.?

Any ideas what may be causing this . The tree is not over watered and as far as i can tell it looks healthy enough with new growth appearing on the top. Thanks for your help.

OK, simple answer is, don't worry. I have 2 and the leaves fall all most year round, normal for this tree. I don't water mine either, they are VERY tough and deep rooted. Very common here in Southern California because they are so tough and disease resistant.

This species is generally known as the Peruvian Pepper tree, which is usually responsible for the pink spicy pepper corns. They are extreemly invasive outside there natural habitat. Leaves fall at a normal pace for renewal yearly. Normally leaves are replaced once a year and old leaves fall from the tree. If there is any excessive foliage dropping or foliage damaged by disease or insects take a sample to your local county extension service where the experienced horticlltural staff will direct you in the right direction.
