Would this be a good motto for the Democratic Party?

no, but here's one for the republicans

I can have a pony, and give it food, shelter, medical attention while there are humans in this country who are homeless, starving and dying of all sorts of preventable health problems

Why couldn't a democrat have a pony? I don't get the meaning of the motto.

Democrats would more likely want to tax the pony owners and give the money to women that want abortions.

Democrats that are liberal are phony and hypocrits. Proof, there are many democrats working on Wall Street, have fancy cars, and live in Hollywood, yet they look down on the rich. They like their rich LIBERAL friends, and hate their rich CONSERVATIVE friends. That's a hypocrit.

But a good motto for the Republicans should be: All money in the hands of the super-rich; absolutely nothing for anyone else. Republicans: Buidling a bridge to the 13th century.

Here's a better one:

"This is my new pony, do you need a ride somewhere? BTW, do you want me to help you a bit so you can buy your own pony? Hey, I have a couple of sandwiches in my saddlebag...would you like one?"
