I have given this answer a few times today, and everyone that has tried it has told me it has worked for them =)
If you are with Virgin media then follow these instructions and you will be able to access your mail again =)
In Internet Explorer
Choose Tools > Internet Options > Connections
Under Dial-Up and Virtual Private Network Settings,if there is an entry in there select it and choose the Settings button
If not then choose the LAN Settings button instead
Now clickto add a tick to the box which says Use a proxy server for this connection OR Use a proxy server for your LAN or something similar.
In the Address: box type - webcache.virginmedia.com
In the Port: box type 8080
Click OK and OK again and restart Internet Explorer
You might also need to change back to Yahoo! Classic, when you can get in to do it, that is.Underneath your e-mail address just click on the mail classic option,it will ask you to confirm that you want to go back to using the old style version, just click yes
You can access it instantly via this link http://uk.m.yahoo.com/p/mail
but the above will solve the problem permanantly =)

Yahoo say they are aware of the problem and are working on it!
There was an answer by minnie to a similar question - I quote
If you are a Virgin Media customer you might want to try this because it worked for me:
In Internet Explorer
Choose Tools > Internet Options > Connections
Under Dial-Up and Virtual Private Network Settings, if there is an entry in there select it and choose the Settings button
If not then choose the LAN Settings button instead
Now click to add a tick to the box which says Use a proxy server for this connection OR Use a proxy server for your LAN or something similar.
In the Address: box type - webcache.virginmedia.com
In the Port: box type 8080
Click OK and OK again and restart Internet Explorer
That worked fine for me too
Further to Minnies answer
For Firefox.
Select Tools - Options - Advanced - select the Network tab - click the Settings button - click the" Manual proxy configurtation" radio button -
then under "HTTP Proxy" enter "webcache.virginmedia.com" and enter 8080 in the port box
Hope that helps

This is because Yahoo email is now officially worse, and the idiots at Yahoo want to make sure people really understand this before they accept the new terms. I for one am finally going to leave Yahoo. This is a total invasion of privacy. Oh yeah, and the only reason I used to go read any of the crap articles on the yahoo home page, or any yahoo content for that matter was because I was checking my email. Im certain i am not alone here ( plus this if you agree) and just noticed another post about this problem that was deleted by Yahoo because some one posted to Yahoo Answers " how do I delete my Yahoo email?" Yahoo execs have been making bad decisions for years now, but for me this is the icing on the cake. The only solution I see to your problem.. which is also the same problem I am having.. is complete Yahoo email EXODUS. See Ya Yahoo.. you suck!

As Virgin Media is my ISP I tried the fixes for IE and Firefox - and they worked on both!
Thanks to whoever sent in this fix and can you please explain to me why it works and why Yahoo! hasn't published this fix itself?
Best Regards,
KD
A very grateful Yahoo! mail user
