I have an older Kenwood AM/FM receiver that does everything it should, except stay on! :) It has a push button?
power on/off, and the button will not stay depressed in the on position, so it is a bit inconvenient to hold the button in to listen to the radio! :) Any one have suggestions on how this can be remedied? Naturally I am trying to avoid taking it into a repair shop! Thanks for any ideas!

the power switch has failed mechanically. if you are technically inclined
it would not be a difficult fix. otherwise, its off to the shop.

You can replace it with a new switch or modify it with a regular up/down mechanical switch, depending on how many wires is going to this push button switch. It sounds like the locking mechanism to keep the switch engaged is not functioning.
