Why Have So Many Retired Generals And Admirals Endorsed Obama?
It's not just General Powell. it seems a majority of our retired generals and admirals have endorsed Barack Obama for president.

Even McCain's old pal General John Adams is supporting Obama.
McCain has implied that Obama pals around with terrorist and yet his old pal Adams doesn't think so. Is it because they all know McCain's real war record? Or know he cares more about the wealthy than the rest of our people? Or perhaps they know his stand on the Middle East is flawed?
Who do we trust? Who do we believe? All these distinguished military leaders or McCain?
(By the why, despite what the McCain camp has claimed, no active military leader is allowed to publicly endorse a political canidate.)
No Pinheads, there are not even 200 retired generals still alive. McCain and his camp told a barefaced lie.
To you McCain tools claiming McCain has been endorsed by 200 generals this is simply another McCain lie. There aren't even 200 living retired generals and admirals. As of this moment John McCain has the endorsement of less retired military leaders than Barack Obama.
Felishi, I'm retired military. Most of us old guys know about the USS Forrestal, the propaganda tapes, etc. That's not why these generals aren't supporting mcCain though. They're aren't supporting him because of his flawed, to quick to act without thinking, lack of sound judgment.
M1020u, what you're claiming to be fact comes from McCain's web site where he claims over 200 generals support him and yet they only list 54 supporters. 54 is not over 200. There are not even 200 retired admirals and generals still alive.

Also speaking as a veteran, your facts are flaw to say the least. By far the majority of officers who have spoken out (both retired and active duty) support McCain over Obama by a wide margin. Those who spend time around other veterans (such as at the American Legion or VFW) find that there also the support for McCain far exceeds those supporting Obama. This also true for those on active duty.
Obama represents the destruction of the military as did Carter and Clinton. In addition Obama is a socialist in his approach to the economy and that will destroy the free market system that yet remains. With a President Obama and both houses of Congress controlled by the far left, the Constitution (already tattered) will be torn a part.
It is truly a shame when such false information is presented as if it were true. Spend time talking to actual veterans and active duty military.

Interesting. I'm for Obama. If you read Rolling Stone they report the facts. If you read this months addition, its quite interesting and it gives a new light on McCain and his campaign. It also says some stuff about bush. I just wonder how i missed it in 2000 and 2004. In 2000 if i would have been old enough to vote i would have gone for McCain but he has since changed his view on a lot of things so now i;'m for Obama because i think that he's that right choice for out country.

I think is not so much that they support Obama, it's the fact that they are tired of this administration and they want a change.
Some of them realize the humoungus cost of the war, and being in the military they have a better idea of what is necessary to end it.

Very interesting.
I think it is because they are sick of the politicians that served some time in the military coming into office and thinking they know more than the "lifers". I mean, come on - McCain is going to know more about a military operation than Collin Powell? I doubt it.

You are wrong and drinking the Obama koolaid.
The military OVERWHELMINGLY Supports McCain.
The Democrats know this, that is why they try to suppress the absentee voting from the Military.

these are incredibly educated and smart individuals that truly know what it takes to make a great president. i would say this is highly influential. i would trust a general's judgment more than i would some crazy lady at a rally who says obama is an "arab" or some caribou barbie drunk with power who says he "pals around with terrorists". i mean, what makes more sense?
