Hitler was much worse. Communists got a bad rep because of Russia, which actually had more in common with Nazi Germany than it did with Communism. Real Communism has never existed, just fascist governments that claim to be communist.

Hitler. Marx didn't coral people and burn them in ovens after all. He was an idea man. His plan wasn't actually practical, but he meant well - the philosophical underpinnings were somewhat sound.
I think Hitler might still win over Stalin. Although the genocide that Stalin committed in the Ukraine and in Russia is astounding - Hitler would have to take the blame for the European body count of WW2.
Neither Obama or McCain are in these categories - people just like hyperbole. Both are fairly centrist.

marx had a good idea that would be great in utopia. but in the real world communism does not spur on innovation. why would you go to school for 8 years to become a doctor when the amount you can make will be limited by the governmant?
hitler started out great who knows maybe if he went back for that second semester of art class ....

Actually if you look at what Obama is doing, blaming the rich and big business(instead of the Jews) for all our problems, he's giving the people a scapegoat. He is then going to make them pay for their evil success by taxing the s**t out of them.
It's class warfare plain and simple. Obama and Biden have both pointed out that McCain hasn't mentioned the middle class. They constantly bring up class and use one against the other. Joe Biden said that the middle class is the engine of the economy. The fact is we are ONE part of the engine. The rich, the poor, big business, small business, old, young, we're ALL part of the engine. What's NOT part of the engine is the government. The government has been syphoning off the fuel of the economy, capital. They take interest free loans out of our paychecks, then we end up having to borrow at high interest rates. That is a non-tax tax.
Obama says he is a uniter, then he divides us by using class. We need to take government out of things with which they have NO business being involved. The more we depend on them the more they can use us against each other.

Bad comparison on both counts. Obama is yet to be actualized for what he represents vs. who he is. He is a sock puppet and nothing more. The agenda of his handlers will likely be crystal clear soon enough (as if it wasn't already). McCain is the sacrificial offering and nothing more. Slated to fail at the beginning.
They do not represent two opposing sides but one side. The same one that the last three presidents represented. This time however the intentions are naked and open for all to see...that is for those who have sight.
Vote as you will...it does not matter.

Ummm, Marx didn't actually do anything wrong. A better comparison would be Stalin v. Hitler.
- julianfab17Lv 41 decade ago
Neither of those comparisons are fair. In fact, they're insane. No candidate is a fascist or a communist.
As to who was worse... well, Hitler of course. If you'd have compared him to Stalin, it would have been a harder decision.

realistically speaking, the system of government isn't responsible for the actions of the tyrant that ruled it.
A republic is just as susceptible to being led into the same actions as Hitler committed, if the people are willing to give up their rights for security.

Compared to their modern counterpart, McCain doesn't rack up, yet.
After his party effectively nationalized the banking system and home mortgage system, McCain wishes to continue his campaign of fear and wage war.
McCain is too dangerous to elect.
