Orange Bridesmaids flowers.?

Hi,

I'm getting married in August 2009 and am having a bit of trouble finding nice orange-ish flowers to go with my medium purple bridesmaid dresses.

I would like to incorporate orange because it's my partners favourite colour (I know, very strange).

Just wanting some tips about how to pull this off and what others colours I could use to break it up.

Thanks.

Uh, it's not strange at all.

Tiger or orange asiatic lilies are very cool.

    This is very striking -

What I would do is have the bouquets be mostly orange, with purple and white accents, with greenery - to stand out more with the purple dresses.

LOVE these colours together. Can look awesome if coordinated properly.

I think purple dresses and orange bouquets will look great together - the contract (purple and orange are basically opposite on the color wheel) will make each color pop.

There are lots of pinkish-orange roses (some more orange than pink). My favorite orange flower is tiger lilies, because they are so vibrant and exotic-looking.

If you don't want solid orange bouquets, add in some white or light yellow flowers. Tie them up with a white or purple ribbon and you're good to go.

Depending on just how light orange, the flowers could go two ways: 1 - subtle. cream or white flowers or maybe even very pale pink. nothing too bright or vibrant. 2 - bold. bright yellows or oranges. I'd really want to have a sample of the color of the dress to decide for sure. But if in doubt, I would go for a more subtle flower color before doing something bold/bright that might clash with the dress.

I don't know if you've ever heard of University of Evansville in Indiana or not, but their colors are purple, orange, white, and black.....look up their website if ya want....I think the right shades of purple and orange look really neat together...hope this helps! You can also get pretty much any flower died to the exact color you're looking for, so don't worry about that~ good luck with the wedding!

absolutely no need to start dying flowers just go on the 'net and do a google image search for orange flowers - you'll see tons of them

and then do a google image search for orange flower bouquets they are all absolutely gorgeous!

now do the google image search for orange wedding cakes! very nice! now do the google image search for orange wedding decorations - some interesting ideas.

now do a google image search for orange bridesmaid dresses-i know you said your dresses are purple so do the same search but for purple bridesmaid dresses! gorgeous choices shown.

last but not least look at orange wedding table linens and wedding favors!

good luck with it all and btw happy wedding!

I think you should have the bridesmaid flowers with a bunch of different shades of purple, and then add like 6 little-medium sized orange flowers in it. Then I would take three different shades of purple ribbon that matches the flowers they're holding and add one orange ribbon. And then I would tie the ribbon around the stems of the flowers, that way you have the purple you want, and you get to add in some orange for you partner. it's very sweet that you are going to put orange in your wedding colors for him :-) sounds like you two love each other.

I wish you the best of luck!!!! and CONGRATS!!!!!

oh, and thanks for answering my question :-)

the best orange flowers are tiger lilies. here ia s pic. http://www.unity-farmington.org/tiger%20lillies.jp...

I just got married yesterday and my bridesmaids had orange flowers. there were hand-tied mango calla lilies with hypericum berries and hydrangeas that were green with purple edges. There were also some kind of leaves and some ivy. I liked their bouquets better than my own!

You can dye almost any pale flower to an orange color. you can have orange daisies, roses, etc. But for that, you'd want to go professional with a florist. I would use different kinds of orange to break it up. maybe yellows or golds too.

It's not weird. My husband's fave color is orange too.

Some of the flowers that come in orange are: roses, orchids, gerberas, carnetions, asiatic lilies, and so on....

    Just ask a florist!!
