VH1 named Bon Jovi's "Livin on a Prayer" the best song of the 80's. Do you agree or disagree?

I totally agree. That's a timeless song as other person said it before. It's one of those songs that will be on your memory forever. The lyrics are great, the rhythm, the chorus, the talk box, everything is great about that song. I think there are other songs that are terrific too, but Livin' on a prayer is an anthem, and it's one song that people love. Here in South America, most of people who like rock music would tell you that THIS is the ONE. That's a classic, and that's why Bon Jovi still rules in a huge part of the world

    DISAGREE!!!!

    I mean hello,

    Prince's "Purple Rain"

    Madonna's "Material Girl"

Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing in the Dark"

Guns N' Roses' "Welcome to the Jungle"

    Michael Jackson's "Billy Jean"

Any one of these songs captures the 80's better than "Livin on a Prayer." Fine it's your favorite song, I am not dissing that. But this is the best we could do for the best representation of pop music from the 80's?!

There is something seriously wrong with that.

Where was Duran Duran's "Hungry Like The Wolf" on that countdown? Hands down, that is the best song of the 80s in my opinion.
