3 AnswersElections1 decade agoRepublicans: Help me with economics, please?
The national debt was about $5.7 trillion when Bush took office in January 2001. Today, after almost eight years and a couple of "wars", the debt has risen to about $9.7 trillion.
And, by the way, that figure might rise another $1 trillion or so before Bush steps down on Jan. 20.
The national debt ceiling today is $10.6 trillion. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson wants Congress to raise that to $11.3 trillion to clear the decks for massive borrowing to deal with the nation’s financial crisis.
A national debt of $11.3 trillion would come to more than $37,000 each for every man, woman and child in the United States.
And all this comes during an era of allegedly conservative, fiscally responsible Republican domination in Washington.
How are we all going come up with $37,000 to fix this mess?

7 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoIs it possible God could exist and be all powerful and deal with evil in the future?
Many non-believers feel there is no God because of evil. But maybe God is waiting for the right opportunity to end evil with the second coming.

17 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoAnnoying College cheerleader during March Madness?
I've noticed an annoying trend during the tournament of the cheerleaders just yelling "ooooooooh' while the opposing team has the basketball. Michigan State and Duke have always done it, and yesterday, I heard Notre Dame do it as well. I understand the point of annoying the other team and to cheer on your defense - but after a while it gets so old and unbearable as a fan. Can't they do something original? I don't see the point and fot that much the point of cheerleaders at all. What do you think?

3 AnswersHistory1 decade agoBCS Scenario. What do you think?
The "goal" of the BCS is to have #1 play #2.
Let's say Ohio State beats Michigan by failed 2 point conversion in triple OT.
In my opinion, the BCS Championship should be Michigan vs. OSU in a rematch. If you are #2 in the country for a month like Michigan would be and lose to #1 team, that would still make you #2. A real playoff would make this easier. Thoughts?
7 AnswersFootball (American)1 decade agoEveryone asks "what is your favorite 80's song" -- instead -- What 80's song do you dislike the most?
