Weird question about roadkill...when you see it...?

It's very sad whatever the animal is, to be killed in their own habitat probably while searching for food by a man made machine that they have no conception of really breaks my heart. The saddest are the ones killed by people who deliberately drive at them or swerve towards them for some sort of sick thrill.

I often think also of all the little bodies just left there where they fell, when you think of all the ceremony attending a human death, and rightly so, and the fact that every human life has to be accounted for isn't it sad that thousands of animals are killed on our roads and so few care? I think most of us also drive around or over a small body instead of stopping and moving it away out of sight and giving it a little dignity in death.

Well I don't know, at first when i saw roadkill i got sad. But then I really stopped caring.. because i've seen it so much. I know that's cruel, and I would never purposely run over an animal. I'm not psycho. I love animals, it's just that after awhile you stop caring about them that much. People normally like animals more for their appearance i guess.

Here in the UK, there is a chap who takes road kill home and eats it. He says he's had everything from Fox, Badger, pheasants, to Labrador ( someones pet).

It is sad to see animals killed like this. I once found a Barn Owl that had been struck by a car. What a beautiful creature and sad that it died in this way.

roadkill is horrible whatever it is but I know where you are at I am in the UK and recently saw a young deer at the side of the road - so sad

I live in the middle of a national nature reserve and I occasionally see deer which have been killed on the roads which run through it. I find it completely heart breaking.

Road kills are sad but personally I always check dead birds if I am walking beside the road. Always check to see if the bird has a ring in its leg. Sending the ring off to the address printed on it can provide valuable information, so the bird hasn't died completely in vain.

But wash your hands as soon as possible afterwards!
