The first child I had the works with food, decorations, presents and guests. It was mostly for adults. With the second, third and fourth child I did small just the family parties. It was overwhelming trying to run a party and nurse a one year old, plus her birthday was in the summer so it was hot and I was worn out and wishing people would go home after the second hour.

I had her favorite character come (Barney)....my brother dressed up in the outfit. Then I had a large Braney cake and a Baby Bop small cake for her to tackle. Then I had close family and friends and some food. Chips, dip, snack stuff! We had alot of fun and took lots of pics! Have fun!!!!

A house party with close family and friends... ended up being over 30 guests LOL But it was a low key, pizza and cake kind of party that my son really enjoyed.

We had the cake, family, friends, space-walk (my friend owns one) with hot dogs, chili and chips to snack on. It was nice and I am starting to plan his 2nd since I will have twin girls who are about 1 or 1-1/2 months old at this time. My husband wants to scale it back a little since we will have newborns, but I not wanting to hear it.

That's pretty much it....they are so small and they will not remember the party so you don't have to be extreme. Just have close family over and have cake. That's always a special time!

Very small gathering of a few close relatives (most of my family lives too far away) and a simple cake and ice cream and gifts.

Just a simple with only a few close relatives and a couple of close friends. Just keep it simple he wont care or even remember. Take plenty pictures.

  • Close friends and family at our house. It was really fun! Sam had his own special cake, and he tore into it and he had a blast!!
