Any one help with computer task bar on regular screen?

I have these little icons that keep telling me that I have a security problem, and it is an ad for buying a spy ware product. I have run my virus and adware programs, and nothing stops it. I have opened the icon but there is no place to tell it to stop. What can I do? Help please..

Update:

Well I have tried all the sites and down loaded and scanned to no avail. I'm not confident enough to do the inside of the computer writing.I don't know what I'll do next. But thankyou everyone for trying to help me.

I've seen this happen quite often.

Apparently the virus/spyware/trojan has infiltrated the registry and can't been easily destroyed. What happens when you run the spyware and virus programs? Does it detect anything, does it remove anything, etc?

You need to turn off system restore.

    Update the virus definitions.

    Run a full system scan.

Delete any values added to the registry.

I recommend that you temporarily turn off System Restore. Windows XP uses this feature, which is enabled by default, to restore the files on your computer in case they become damaged. If a virus, worm, or Trojan infects a computer, System Restore may back up the virus, worm, or Trojan on the computer.

Windows prevents outside programs, including antivirus programs, from modifying System Restore. Therefore, antivirus programs or tools cannot remove threats in the System Restore folder. As a result, System Restore has the potential of restoring an infected file on your computer, even after you have cleaned the infected files from all the other locations.

    Turn off system restore.

Right click my computer-properties-system restore and turn off for all drives.

Restart computer tapping F8 at boot.Start in safe mode.

Log on as administrator if you can.Leave the password blank if you did not put 1 in.Otherwise log into your acct.

Scan your computer with anti virus and adware programs.

Hopefully it will find the offending trojan, virus, etc.

Restart cpu and turn on system restore.

What programs are you using?the more info you give gets you more
