the contemporary is a prime location and quite a unique strctured building.

    i love it!

and personally i'd get the regular dining which is 1 table service 1 snack and 1 quick service meal. that is plenty of food and you won't be hungry.

and if you bring something like cerial from home for breakfast and buy the refillable mug from the hotel you will be all set. i've done it like this a few times now and my family is completely saticfied.

if you are going to spend the extra money for the premium plan you really should use the table services for all meals cuz that is the way to get your moneys worth but you are only going to be thkere for 5 days so do you really want to waste that much time to eat everyday.

cuz every time you eat at a talbe service restauran you will be spending an hour and a half there and not enjoying the attractions.

Both resorts are beautiful and very unique in their own way, but I would personally stay at the Contemporary over Animal Kingdom Lodge. For one, the proximaty to everything. Contemporary is just a monorail ride away to MK, and if you are going to Epcot, you are a monorail ride away to the Ticket and Transportation Center where you can hop onto a different monorail to go there. If you have small children going with you, then the monorail transportation is by far the easiest than hopping on different busses. Plus Animal Kingdom is so far away from everything, it takes time to get from one place to another. Another reason are the views of the different resorts. The Contemporary you either have Bay Lake View or (my personal favorite) the MK view. To be able to watch Wishes from your balcany every night is what Disney Magic is all about. However, at Animal Kingdom you can see animals in certain rooms, don't get me wrong, I love animals, but I can always see them at my zoo. Whatever you decide, I am sure you will have a wonderful time....after all you are at Disney.

As for the Dining plan, we have never used it, but from what I hear the regular dining plan is plenty. I have heard many people talk about the amount of food that either they had to bag up with them, or just take back to the kitchen because it was too much. The next time we are at Walt Disney World, we are planning on using the Dining Plan, but we are probably going to go with the regular one over the Delux. Hope this helps.

Contemporary is very convenient since it is on the monorail. If you think you may be traveling back to your room in the middle of the day for a rest or a swim then heading back out to the parks, it would be a great place to stay. If you plan to hit the parks and stay there all day, I would prefer Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is just beautiful. To me, that is the big advantage that the Contemporary has - traveling a little smoother and easier. AKL is not difficult to travel from, just slightly more time consuming.

The basic food plan is more than enough for most people, unless you truly are going to eat sit-down meals for pretty much every meal every day. You might also like to consider the time it takes to eat sit-down meals at Disney World. You are most likely looking at the minimum one hour for every meal, probably more like an hour and a half to two hours. If you like that, hey, go for it. If you prefer to eat faster, you probably won't be eating that many sit-down meals, so therefore, the premium dining plan won't be worth it.

We stayed at the AKL at it was amazing. So much more flavor than the Contemporary resort. Everything was beautiful there. So peaceful. Which after a day at the parks was very nice. And yes you can go to a zoo, but nothing beats having your morning coffee with giraffes, zebras and antelopes not 40 feet from you. My son would hang out there late at night watching the animals.

We got the regular dining package, and it was more than enough food for us. The AKL has a counter service by the pool with a lot of great stuff covered under "snacks" on the dining plan. Including huge bowl of fruit- that I would get for breakfast.

Pros of Contemporary: Central location, monorail to the Magic Kingdom

Pros of Animal Kingdom: Great buffet restaurant, viewing animals from the balcony of certain rooms. I personally would prefer this because it's an amazing experience.

If you want to eat a lot of hearty meals then the meal package is the way to go. If you prefer to eat quick lighter meals, I would pay as I go and bring snacks with me.

Okay, well toughie, both are pretty unique, however, when I walked into AK lodge, I fell inlove with the whole place. it was beautiful. Loved that they have like story telling round fires etc, and the pool looks lovely.. it's just completely unique.

Contemporary is under a bit of refurbishment at the minute, they were building something next to it when I went in June.. I do like the fact that a monorail goes through it, plus it's so close to MK.

Personally, I'd go for AK lodge.. it's just wonderful. and err the food package, I'd go for the basic, unless your family are big eaters.. Just incase you don't know, this includes one counter meal, one table meal and one snack per day, and you can swap two table meals for a character meal, say if you wanted to go offsite for a day to eat.

there are various great disney inns. Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter, and Riverside have constantly been my favorites. they're kin lodges. a great kind of folk come to those lodges with families, and childrens yet plenty quieter than the All celeb lodges. All celeb lodges,(track, activities, video clips, Pop Century) are the main inexpensive, yet they are in a position to get very crowded, and in the experience that your theory develop into to no longer have a ton of youngsters there, this would not be for you. There are additionally the extra larger scale looking inns like the coastline and Yacht club lodges, and the Boardwalk. in case you do no longer recommendations no longer staying in a Disney lodge, Swan and Dolphin are techniques. they're nevertheless on Disney property, yet no longer a disney motel. They nevertheless have transportation to all the disney parks. i'm uncertain if is as many times as in case you have been to stay at a disney lodge, yet once you reside at a disney motel, buses come each 15 min. i might advise no longer staying off disney property. Even the inns that have transportation from side to side to the parks, they are no longer as wide-unfold, and it will become a real inconvenience. i desire I helped you out.

the animal kingdom lodge because the african atmosphere is great. the contemporary seems dull and right now there's alot of construction going on at this resort. my family always purchases the basic dining plan which includes a breakfast OR lunch option, a snack, and dinner at any great restaurant of your choice.
